My internship

’d like to write about my internship today!

I was working in a business company which is called Rem Serv.

Actually I was so nervous when I got a job because I had no idea about this company. My company is treating Salary Packaging. It was really difficult to understand about that system because I haven’t heard about it before. (to be honest I took over 5 days to get it)

I was working in a customer service. The first 3 days were like a nightmare.

Fortunately people in my company were really nice but they gave me too much information in a day. I was in panic at that moment.

My job was mainly processing. We get bills from customers and type numbers like total amount and the date of the tax invoice. It was a simple task but sometimes customers’ handwriting is terrible and I couldn’t read it…. Moreover, if the customer is missing some documents, we have to call them. I seriously disliked calling. My company’s customers are normally older people and they could not hear what I said. Also sometimes they asked me some questions but I couldn’t understand it as well. I made effort to listen carefully and gradually I got used to calling customers.

From this internship, I got thousands of knowledge such as tax system in Australia, calling the customer in English and how to maintain good relationships with team members. Especially I really liked people in my company!! I was just an intern but they gave me a same job as what they were doing and after 5 weeks they gave me a message cad! I can’t forget this great opportunity and when I go back to Japan, I want to show off this experience to all of my friends, teacher and family <3333

LAZY ME

I don’t know why, but I’m so lazy recently.

I cannot get up in the morning and sometimes I’ll be late for classes about 5 minute. I cooked my lunch every day to save money before but this month I bought my lunch almost every day! I don’t want to believe that. I did my homework but actually I really didn’t want to do it. My teacher told me to do it, so I did it.

I have to change my mind and mode, so I decided my new goals for next 5 weeks. I will try to go to bed super early and study in the morning. I will start with this. Also, I will become an active learner. My English is not enough so I have to study more and more (especially writing).

I swear not to waste my time in here anymore!!!

Holiday

I enjoyed this holiday very much. I went to SydneyJ

I stayed at Sydney only 3 days but it was enough for me. I usually focus on shopping when I travel somewhere, but this time I focused on taking a picture of beautiful view, and visiting famous café.

This is Devon Cafe! It was top hit on Instagram

Niht View from Sydney Tower

Opera House
And I met my old friend. She came to my high school as an exchange student and then we were classmates. I can’t believe that we can meet again in Australia.

Sydney was very busy city. I felt that when I used public transport. Central station was very big and there were a lot of people in there. It made me tired a little bit and also reminded me my home town! I think Brisbane is better for studying;)

JUNE

This month was a really hard for me because of IELTS !! I took it three times in this month….it was a big stress for me. Every day I had to think about it and actually  I couldn’t sleep well.
On the other hand, I could feel a lot of love I really appreciate those who supported me. I had a speaking practice every day with my friend from Taiwan! It was really tough but became unforgettable memory too. She always supported me and said “CHEERS” in Japanese when I felt nervous! Also, my host family and teachers were really helpful. My host family always cheered me up and gave a lot of hugs. My teachers checked my terrible writing and gave me a lot of advice. Finally,I would like to say thank you to  my lovely family in Japan! I couldn’t say “I love you” when I was in Japan but now I can say loudly, “ I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!!”.

I wanted to give up many times but I did all what I can do for IELTS! I don’t care about my result because I think I did my best. I’ll relax and enjoy the rest of this session!

ICTE Chorus

Hi!! I'm a member of ICTE Chorus, so today I'd like to tell you about the concert on 23rd of May.

We had a performance in Woollongabba. It was a music festival which was hold by church.
There was also a flea market selling books, clothes and household items.

It was small but friendly!

We wore only black clothes and put purple accessories(because it is UQ color).

In the concert, we sang 3 songs. The first song was I WANT IT ALL sung by Queen. This song is really powerful and cool. When we were singing, we imagined what we want.(For me, it was the score of IELTS!) In the middle of this song, we clapped hands. I was exciting and I enjoyed it very much.

The second song was COUNT ON ME sung by Bruno Mars. It describes about frendship and it's very lovely! We could make good balance becouse the first song was rock music.

The final song was I WILL FOLLOW YOU. This song is from the movie" Sister Act". For me, "you" in this song is Vicki because she worked hard every week for us, and I think she is the best conductor in the world!

You can watch our perfomances on You Tube too. Check it please!

I want it all: https://youtu.be/HkCj7cql-js
Count on me: https://youtu.be/2IZYi8RsiKw
I will follow you: https://youtu.be/6EFBjQLCmFU

After the concert, we went to German restaurant. We enjoyed beer and delicious food.

For this performance, we did a rehearsal every Monday and Wednesday. It was a little bit hard but exciting and memorable! We have many perfoemances regulary. There will be a performance in City next month too. Please join us!

My new life in Brisbane

About a month has passed since I came to Brisben, in Australia.
I'd like to tell you about my experience so far.

Every day I go to school by train and walking. I think  Australian train is less convenient than Japanese one. It does't come on time and is very few in the weekend. But I can stand now because I get used to be here.

My university is really big. There are a lot of nature and we can enjoy very beautiful view. In addition, there are a lot of library. I was surprised at the number of them. My Japanese university has only one library. I found that that's why UQ students are intelligent.

Australian class is totally different from Japanese one. We can share our ideas with each other. In my class, I can meet very kind friend from many countries. They are very powerful and outgoing. I can't follow them even now, but they  make me inspired. Teachers are also fun. They make me laugh and often ask me about my country. I really love them.

On Friday, the school ends 1pm ,so we can hang out with my friends.
I went to a lot of places like museum, market and karaoke. Everything is fun but also expensive.

Finally, I introduce about my host family.
My host family is 3 members. There are a mother, 7 years old girl, and 7 months baby.
They are very kind. My host mother always cheers up me when I feel sad and children come to my room and talk to me. They are so cute. I do like spending time with them.

I left 9 months to live here. I want to spend my precious time with my incredible friends, teachers and host family not to waste.
